Men sought in theft of guitar mandolin from BG store

first_imgEmployees of the Music World store in Battle Ground are hoping someone will recognize two people who allegedly stole a guitar and mandolin from the store on April 14.When an employee arrived alone at work shortly before 10 a.m., he saw the two waiting for the shop to open and let them in, said Joel Griffith, assistant manager and director of Internet services of the store at 502 E. Main St.The older of the two men allegedly engaged store manager Patrick Dillaman in conversation in an area of the store where Dillaman couldn’t see what the younger man was doing, Griffith said. Not noticing the store’s security camera nearby, the young man allegedly opened his jacket and stuffed a small Washburn Rover guitar worth about $200, neck first, down his pant leg. He then walked out while seeming to chat on his cell phone. The young man then returned, did the same with a Washburn mandolin worth about $900,and walked out again, Griffith said.He also stole a set of instructions for using a guitar pedal, Griffith said.“Neither of us recognized them from before,” Griffith said. Those with information are asked to call the Battle Ground Police Department at 360-342-5100.Both alleged thieves were white, the younger in his late teens, tall with curly brown hair; the other balding, in his mid-50s and heavyset. The video is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4UsQP8qLYw.last_img read more
