Mohammed Shami summoned by court after cheque given to Hasin Jahan bounces

first_imgIndia fast bowler Mohammed Shami has been summoned by Kolkata’s Alipore Court after a cheque that he gave to his estranged wife Hasin Jahan bounced.Shami had given a cheque of Rs 1 lakh to Hasin Jahan in March which bounced following which Hasin Jahan filed a complaint. Shami had even shared his bank account statement to show the transaction.According to the evidence shared by Shami, cheque no. 03718 (for Rs 1 lakh) was credited to Hasin’s account as recently as March 20.Shami will now have to be present in court on September 20th.Mohammed Shami reveals bank statement to prove he paid Hasin Jahan Rs 1 lakh recentlyHasin Jahan had demanded a monthly compensation of Rs 10 lakh per month for the interim period when the case of is on out of which Rs 7 lakh was for family maintenance while Rs three lakh per month for the child.Mohammed Shami was on Wednesday called back into the Indian Test team for the five-match series against England. He had earlier been dropped from the team for the one-off Test against Afghanistan after he failed the yo-yo test.Shami has been out of competitive action for a while after being dropped from the Delhi Daredevils side midway into the Indian Premier League 2018.Hasin Jahan accuses Mohammed Shami of age-forgeryHis whole inclusion in the DD squad for the IPL was in doubts due to his wife Hasin Jahan’s allegations against him regarding match fixing and domestic abuse.However, after investigations from BCCI’s anti-corruption unit, the Bengal pacer was cleared of all charges against him and given a Grade B contract the green light to play in the IPL.advertisementBut, the pacer, who came at the back of family troubles, played only four games in IPL 2018. He only picked up three wickets at an economy rate of 10.40 before getting dropped.The 27-year-old Shami has been injury-prone and of late troubled by allegations of domestic violence by his wife.Shami, who has 110 wickets from 30 Tests, was initially removed from the BCCI’s Central Contracts List before being re-inducted after he was given a clean chit by a BCCI internal probe committee. He also had a narrow escape in an accident before enduring a poor IPL.Hasin Jahan on the other hand, is all set to join the Bollywood bandwagon and will make her debut on the big screen with Amjad Khan’s Fatwa, in which she will reportedly be seen playing a journalist. The film will go on floors later this year.Hasin said that she was forced to enter the film industry in order to to sustain her life. “I had to do something to earn a living for myself and my child. I did not have any other option. I was approached by director Amjad Khan for a film to which I agreed.
