With the first ever Fool’s Paradise set to get underway in a little less than a month, master entertainer and funk maestro Ivan Neville stopped by the SiriusXM offices in New York City to chat with Jam On’s Ari Fink last weekend. Talking about what to expect from his collaboration with Chris Robinson’s Soul Revue, which includes Neville, Robinson, Eric Krasno, Neal Casal, Nikki Glaspie, George Porter Jr. and The Shady Horns, Neville indicates that the group has quite the set list in the works. He says the band has some vintage R&B stuff ready, having already seen a list of songs that the group wants to tackle. Neville makes mention of Robinson’s southern roots and they’re shared tastes, also noting Robinson’s hit record with the Black Crowes, “Hard To Handle,” which is of course an classic Otis Redding number.Quite simply, as Neville expresses, “The group of musicians that are gonna be hangin’ out playing is sick.” Listen to Ivan Neville’s brief chat with Ari Fink of Jam On below. Tickets for the inaugural Fool’s Paradise are on sale now and can be found here.
