Colin thinks this would be a huge mistake.Even though Barkley is an unquestioned game-breaker, there are a number of running backs that are at least comparable in terms of potential NFL productivity that will be available well into the later rounds. Among the available quarterbacks, there are only a handful of potential franchise changers, and the Browns need one badly.Ezekiel Elliott’s rookie success in Dallas changed the narrative that running backs aren’t worth taking with high draft picks, but Colin thinks the pendulum has swung so far in the other direction in just a few years that running backs are now overvalued. There’s no question Barkley is an elite talent, and should be a home run hitter in the NFL, but the value of a franchise quarterback still far exceeds the value of a franchise running back. The Browns need to not get cute and take a QB at #1.
