first_imgAbout the authorFreddie TaylorShare the loveHave your say Arsenal boss Emery: We needs youngsters for successby Freddie Taylor4 days agoSend to a friendShare the loveArsenal manager Unai Emery believes the club’s youngsters have a vital role to play as they strive for success this season. The Gunners are competing on several fronts, including the Premier League and Europa League.Squad rotation is essential if they are to maintain form and fitness over a lengthy and gruelling season. It is why Emery believes the younger players emerging in the squad have vital roles to play.”We can play better each match. It’s one process. Little by little we’re using the young players to achieve the performance, giving them confidence and experience in the matches,” Emery told reporters.”For example, Bukayo Saka is improving, helping us and taking a good performance. I know he needs to break more steps ahead in his improvement. Other players are the same.”This is the way he can give us the best performance and best way to do our way, playing maybe better sometimes. I think this is one process.”For us it’s very important to be competitive each match. We are being competitive at the moment. Being competitive we can then achieve a better way for how we can play.”If we are competitive we can use different players in different moments, some with more skill, some with more capacity to do pressing and transition. We can use them if we, like a team, can feel strong in our mentality and being competitive and consistent each match.” last_img read more

ACC Coach Compares Hunter Renfrow To NFL Star

first_imgHunter Renfrow #13 of the Clemson Tigers scores a touchdown during the fourth quarter against Johnathan Ford #23 of the Auburn Tigers at Jordan Hare Stadium.AUBURN, AL – SEPTEMBER 03: Hunter Renfrow #13 of the Clemson Tigers scores a touchdown during the fourth quarter against Johnathan Ford #23 of the Auburn Tigers at Jordan Hare Stadium on September 3, 2016 in Auburn, Alabama. (Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)Clemson wide receiver Hunter Renfrow is getting a lot of attention heading into the 2019 NFL Draft. While he lacks some of the physical qualities of a star receiver, at least one coach sees qualities of another NFL superstar in Renfrow. In an interview with Yahoo! Sports at the Senior Bowl, Boston College head coach Steve Addazio gave his thoughts on Renfrow’s NFL potential.Addazio concluded that Renfrow shares a lot of similarities to New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman.“He reminds me of Edelman,” said Boston College coach Steve Addazio, referencing Patriots star wideout Julian Edelman. “He’s tough, has great change-of direction and elite hands.”There are certainly some comparisons to be made.Renfrow and Edelman are both of about the same height and build – 5-foot-10, under 200 pounds. But unlike Renfrow, Edelman did not have nearly as much experience as a receiver coming out of college. He played quarterback and was a three-year starter at Kent State before being drafted in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL draft and was only later converted into a receiver.Renfrow, on the other hand, has been a consistent skill position player in Dabo Swinney’s offense since 2015. He averaged over 44 receptions and over 500 receiving yards per year, and even contributed significantly on special teams.Per the Yahoo! Sports report, Renfrow was none too pleased with the comparison either, preferring to be compared to his former Clemson teammate Adam Humphries.last_img read more

The Russian superstar though made a spirited fightback only to lose the match 4-6, 6-1, 6-4.Barty was filled with delight as it has been a good two days for the young tennis star. Her former Big Bash League team, Brisbane Heat had made it to the final of the ongoing season on Saturday. Yes, you read that right.Barty had played an entire season of BBL for the Brisbane Heat in 2015-16 after she had taken a break from professional tennis in 2014.”I think I was pretty wrapped yesterday… the Heat girls made the final… the WBBL final next week but that was a hell of an afternoon yesterday but this is unreal, playing on this beautiful court in front of a packed house, there is nothing better,” Barty, who became the first Australian woman to reach the quarter-final of the Grand Slam at home in 10 years, said on Sunday. Cricket Australia/Getty ImagesBarty, who had claimed the limelight when she won the junior Wimbledon title as a 15-year-old, found a lot of success in doubles in 2013 wherein she had reached three of the four Grand Slam finals with Casey Dellacqua.advertisementHowever, in 2014, a 20-year-old Barty had announced she was taking an indefinite break from tennis in a bid to avoid travelling often and spend more time with her family. In her time away from the sport, she had got in touch with one of her former physios who also worked in the BBL to get a trial with the Brisbane Heat. After impressing in the trials, Barty made her debut for the BBL team in 2015-16 season and impressed straightaway, scoring 39 off 27, including a huge six, in her league debut. She also played a List A game for Queensland women in 2015 in Adelaide. However, Barty made a strong comeback to tennis after an 18-month break in 2016. Ever since, the 22-year-old has grown from strength to strength as she won three titles, including the WTA Elite Trophy in Zhuhai last year. 2019 World Cup: A test of Virat Kohli’s tactical acumen as series of challenges await

first_img Press Trust of India New DelhiMay 18, 2019UPDATED: May 18, 2019 15:10 IST The World Cup will be much about Kohli, the captain as much as it is about Kohli, the batsman (Courtesy by BCCI)HIGHLIGHTSWorld Cup 2019 will be Virat Kohli’s hour of reckoning in his bid to create a lasting legacy as India’s captainThe number four batting slot in the Indian team has been a topic of discussionHardik Pandya’s multi-dimensional talent at No. 7 is expected to be put to good useHis manic consistency has already put him among the pantheon of greats but the World Cup in England will be Virat Kohli’s hour of reckoning in his bid to create a lasting legacy as India’s captain. The first Indian captain to win a Test series on Australian soil, Kohli will be leading a team which has its own share of worries but is not short of game-changers, a must in a big ticket tournament.Who bats at No 4? Is Kedar Jadhav good enough? Third pacer or an extra all-rounder? Kuldeep or Chahal or both? The World Cup will be much about Kohli, the captain as much as it is about Kohli, the batsman.A World Cup victory will put Kohli in a league of his own and even those skeptical about his tactical nous will have no other option but to grudgingly doff their hats at his heady achievements.Without doubt, the Indian captain will hold the key during the seven-week period where he is expected to cross 11,000 runs and also add a few more hundreds to the 41 he already has in his kitty. With the pitches expected to be as flat as pancakes, Rohit Sharma’s flamboyance may fetch him a few ‘Daddy Hundreds’, maybe even a fourth double, if the vice-captain gets going. And then there is Shikhar Dhawan, who has never put a foot wrong at the ICC events since his international debut and would like the record to remain unblemished. The trouble starts after this point, something that Men In Blue have not exactly been able to paper over despite fabulous show from the top three on more occasions.advertisementThe number four slot has been a topic of discussion after Ambati Rayudu failed to inspire confidence and the maverick Rishabh Pant was left out of the squad defying logic.Even the explanations given by the chairman of selectors MSK Prasad and skipper Kohli about Dinesh Karthik’s experience under pressure wasn’t a convincing enough reason.Save his 8-ball-29 in the Nidahas T20 final against Bangladesh, Karthik in his stop-start 14-year international career has hardly done anything worth remembering.Vijay Shankar, the man termed as the ‘Three Dimensional’ cricketer by Prasad or specialist opener KL Rahul are expected to be the ‘square peg in a round hole’.Whoever is the choice, it will be more of an inspirational one rather than having any method to the madness as the ‘Madmax’ Pant waits in the wings.Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s final World Cup campaign will be an emotional one for his legion of fans but a strike-rate in the 70s and inability to force the pace on a consistent basis between 35th and 50th over will keep opposition teams interested.During the IPL, Dhoni is known to target the young Indian bowlers during the death overs, using all his expertise, something he might find difficult against a Kagiso Rabada or a Pat Cummins or a Mohammed Aamir. At No. 6 comes Kedar Jadhav, hopefully, fit by the time India take on South Africa at Southampton on June 5.The cheeky player that he is, Jadhav’s below-par show in 14 IPL games is a cause of concern. At CSK, despite playing on conducive Chennai tracks, Jadhav wasn’t bowled – partially due to his dodgy hamstring and partly due to the success of Harbhajan Singh and Imran Tahir.Hardik Pandya’s multi-dimensional talent at No. 7 is expected to be put to good use during the tournament. His ability to produce big sixes at the death can change the complexion of the game. The Indian team management and the selectors in the past two years invested heavily in wrist spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal, who have got a decent amount of success. But the Australians during their last ODI series in India, were able to successfully decode the duo with young Ashton Turner (not in WC squad) showing the way in Mohali while Usman Khawaja and Aaron Finch followed suit in Ranchi.Kuldeep’s poor IPL form has been an insult to the injury as he was the only World Cup-bound India player, who lost his place in an IPL playing XI due to poor form. But there is Jasprit Bumrah, who in coming years, will perhaps be one of India’s greatest match-winners.Mohammed Shami’s swing up-front and Bumrah’s yorkers at the death makes it for a heady cocktail.Out of nine league games, winning six could prove to be good enough to qualify for the semi-finals for a team that has plenty of talent on offer. Also Read | Kedar Jadhav declared fit for 2019 World Cup, to travel to England with Team India on May 22Also Read | World Cup 2019 winners to earn USD 4 millionAlso Read | Sourav Ganguly among 3 Indian commentators for Cricket World Cup 2019advertisementFor sports news, updates, live scores and cricket fixtures, log on to indiatoday.in/sports. Valcucine Kitchens are the Best in the World

first_img 10 Best Whiskies for Irish Coffee Under the umbrella of DOM Interiors – a company housing some of the most modern, high-end kitchens and closet systems – Valcucine actually specializes in sustainability. The brand designs kitchens that are 100% recyclable and as dematerialized as possible, using zero formaldehyde emissions and only wood that doesn’t come from the destruction of primary forests. As Valcucine is an Italian brand and most Italians actually take their kitchens with them when they move, all of their systems are easy to disassemble. So even though they come at a luxury price point, it’s something you will have forever. The Best Podcasts to Listen to at Work We’re all about innovative design here at The Manual. We don’t want our houses and gear just to look great, we also need them to function at the highest level possible. And when it comes to the home, this couldn’t be truer for any room more than the kitchen. It should look neat and tidy but be fully equipped, whether you’re heating leftovers or cooking a full feast from scratch. Not only does Valcucine design the coolest hyper-innovative kitchen systems we’ve ever seen, they do it sustainably too. Editors’ Recommendations How to Make a Cuban Sandwich, According to Chefs We did a walk-through of the DOM Interiors showroom, and these kitchens are seriously incredible. Our favorite of the bunch is the Artematica Vitrum Arte program, designed by Gabriele Centazzo. Clean, minimalistic lines dominate the structures, made with a base of aluminum and a slew of different materials like layered high pressure laminate, wood, lacquered MDF and glass. They’re lightweight with smart doors that meet in the middle and close silently. But what makes this system really specially is the customizability. Valcucine perfected a technique that makes it possible to reproduce paintings and drawings on glass fronts, so your own work or that commissioned by an artist can be used to make your kitchen one of a kind. It’s difficult to explain how cool this system is if you don’t see it in action, so check out the video below to really understand what the fuss is all about.Like what you see? Cook on This: The Iwachu Cast Iron Omelette Pan

first_img The Best Cast Iron Camping Cookware If you consider the fact that the Iwachu Cast Iron Omelette Pan is handcrafted from Nambu iron, which is a material that has been used for over 400 years, that certainly is proof that it has withstood the test of time. In fact, the Iwachu Cast Iron Omelette Pan takes 60 steps to make. The all-purpose pan, which can be used for more than just making omelettes, is designed and painstakingly handcrafted in the traditional nambu tekki style in Morioka, Japan. If you take a look at the pan’s soft curves, it’s clear that it’s thoughtfully made with care. Best of all, its design ensures that the pan’s handle stays cool, so you don’t have to worry about burning your fingers. On top of that, it’s ergonomic, so it fits the shape of your hand perfectly. It’s also low stick, so all you health-conscious folks don’t have to worry about using lots of oil, and you don’t have to deal with all that scrubbing. According to Luke Murray a Hand-Eye Supply employee contributor, “Like most cast iron pans, these offer even heating and heavy duty durability. But their sort of bumpy, pre-seasoned surface gives a shockingly smooth cooking surface, in a package more ergonomic than any tiny-handled skillet we’ve ever handled. They’re a perfect non-stick pan for your breakfast eggs, with a nice balanced feel and no gross toxic coating.”Sure, the Iwachu Cast Iron Omelette Pan may be a bit pricey at $120, but just think of it as an investment that will last forever. It’s a staple that every serious at-home cook needs. Plus, you’ll make the most amazing omelettes ever. The Iwachu Cast Iron Omelette Pan, $120 at handeyesupply. Four Awesome Fall Haircuts to Consider

Though the weather may not have turned yet, you may already be pulling out your denim jackets, sweaters, and work boots from storage. So, while you’re swapping out your summer wardrobe for cool-climate essentials, perhaps it’s a good time to rethink what’s happening on top of your head. Between sweltering temperatures foiling attempts at any semblance of a style, and plunging mercury forcing you to don a beanie, you have a short window of opportunity to show off a pretty sweet cut. We asked AXE Master Barber Pedro Rosario to recommend a quartet of fall haircuts to request the next time you’re at the barbershop.Effortless Side Part“This excellent skin fade with precision bending that never goes out of style,” says RosarioWhat to ask for:“Instead of the slick side part, you want the front bang to hang loosely on the side but not too long so ask for a high skin fade and tight trim on top.”Styling advice: Take a dime-sized amount of matte paste (Rosario recommends Axe Messy Look Paste, $6.99) and run your fingers to work it though hair, letting “the front fall naturally with it’s own weight.”Textured Fro“Afro styles are trending more natural, so it is curls on top and is tapered on the sides,” says Rosario. What to ask for: Trim the top so it’s short to medium length depending on your preference, and then an even fade on the sides.Styling advice: Rub a dime-size amount of softening cream (SheaMoisture for Men Three Butters Styling Smoothie, $8.99) between your palms, and then massage it into hair until it fades in. Finish it with a curling sponge to help shape curls.Textured BuzzcutThink of this as the cool weather version of a favorite summer style. “It’s choppy and textured on top but still finger length short, and tight on the sides not showing any skin,” says Rosario. What to ask for: Ask the barber for a longer buzz look with scissors on top and a longer clipper guard on the side so there’s no skin showing.Styling advice: Work a dab of texturizing paste or clay (V76 by Vaughn Texture Clay, $21) into hair with fingers until you have created a decent amount of texture.Mid-length Bedhead“Medium length hair is really popular, but this season’s style is less sculpted and more get-up-and-go,” says Rosario. What to ask for: “For a haircut that looks like you didn’t get a haircut (i.e. natural sideburns and neckline),” says Rosario. “If they don’t understand, politely leave.”Styling advice: Rub a fingertip amount of shine pomade (try Rudy’s Shine Pomade, $22) into hands, and then rake them through hair to achieve desired messiness level.Short Hair with ColorBertrand Rindoff Petroff/Getty Images“Color is a big thing!” says Rosario. He sees soft highlights and extreme dye jobs (i.e. platinum and deep blonde) paired with short styles being popular this season. What to ask for: See a barber who does color so they can guide your through the process. And bring photos as reference so the professional can give you realistic expectationsStyling advice:Because colored hair tends to be drier, be sure to choose a hydrating styling cream (try Bumble & bumble Grooming Creme, $31). Brush or comb it through to perfect the style. Lovesick Poetry Contest: Compose a Barf Bag Poem, Win Free Airfare

first_imgValentine’s Day is over this year, but that doesn’t mean you have to abandon all those schmaltzy melodramatic poems you’d silently composed in your head for your significant other. One budget airline is giving lovesick passengers an outlet for their long-distance passion and offering them the chance to reconnect in the process. One of Britain’s most notorious budget airlines, easyJet, has launched a Valentines-inspired contest designed to elevate the concept of “lovesick” to high literary art. Through the end of February 2018, the airline is challenging passengers — especially those in long-distance relationships — to scrawl a few lines of romance on their seatback barf bags. EasyJet’s head of cabin crew, Tina Milton, notes: “Distance is said to make the heart grow fonder, but long-distance relationships are always hit with some light turbulence. We are challenging our customers to channel their inner Byron, Keats, and Wordsworth.”It started when flight attendants began finding barf bags that lovesick passengers were using as a sort of “message in a bottle” for subsequent passengers to discover. The crew recalls the most memorable note was found on a London-bound flight out of Paris. The poem was written in both English and French with the hope of encouraging whoever found it to do the same. The airline notes the contest was also partially inspired by a recent survey that revealed some surprising (we’re going to say “inflated”) statistics. According to the study, a whopping 29 percent of their Flight Club frequent flyers are involved in long-distance relationships. Plus, the airline expects at least 250,000 couples to take a romantic mini-vacation this spring. It appears love is literally in the air.The contest runs through midnight BST on February 28, 2018. Entrants must compose their poem on a genuine easyJet barf bag, then share a photo of their creation on Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #LoveSickSonnets. Daisy Goodwin, a best-selling poet and multi-award-winning television writer, will be judging every entry. The winner will score a pair of round-trip flights to anywhere easyJet flies. (In true budget airline fashion, however, the chosen flights are subject to blackout dates.) The View of an American Road Trip from the Back of a Motorcyclelast_img read more
